CONTEXUAL RESEARCH FOR CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION

Identify the contextual research you have been required to carry out for the following projects?
This might include use of images, use of typography, use of sound, existing examples of media products
and roles within the industry itself.

Horror Film Poster

For this type of research, I used it in the way of including images I found of the internet and ones that I
took myself, for the ones I took myself I used that for my wolfman poster but in the horror house posters I
was given the images to edit my poster with.

Lost Short Film

The way I used contextual research into my short film I created was of that, to find a participant to be in
the short film, also by being social with my team when creating this as we had to talk to one another to
create what we did. To know what I was going to do in our teams we created a story board to collect our
ideas to what we wanted to create.

Blair Witch Trailer Project

For this type of research, I used it by using sound that was existing from free sounds to add my edit. This
improved my edit as from using my skills from previously learning foley I added to my edit. I also did this
by playing my role in the trailer.

Identify examples within your own work of where your research and application of contextual
knowledge was successful?

Examples of this could be from when I would come into college the day, I have to do the
work that I was doing. Another way that this would have been successful was that when I
played my role into doing my work that I needed to complete, as from when I took on the
role of being in most scenes for the Blair witch project trailer. I’ve also used it when I did
research to describe what I would be doing or what would help me to complete

What do you feel you have learned from this process that you could carry forward for future projects?

From what I have learned i think that what I can carry forward to my future projects could be as of doing
more do more research to help myself for my work and may also help with better grades towards the
end of the course itself. To also be able to include more work into research and other work that includes
adding text, which means to be able to add more information.
