Significance of the Study

The findings of this study will help students understand how important it is to be able to
distinguish the function of the integumentary system in the human body. Considering that this is
self-paced instruction material, there may have been a relationship through this developed
monograph that enables the students to complete a number of tasks independently with little or
no teacher assistance.

This study was expected to help primary school pupils, particularly those in grade six (6),
understand some of the more challenging ideas related to the human body's integumentary
system.

The purpose of this study was to develop a monograph that could be applied to a teaching-
learning process. The focus of this endeavor would be the development of a monograph that
would be geared to the pupil’s level of comprehension and would actually boost learners’
interests and passion towards science notably the Integumentary system of the human body.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study was limited only to the development of monograph on Integumentary system in
human body for grade six (6) elementary pupils- to include the different parts of Integumentary
system, function and common disorder.

The used of rubric in rating and evaluating the developed monograph was considered as for
validation of this monograph. The limit of the evaluators for the teacher were three (3) In-service
science teachers in North Central School and thirty (30) Pre-service teachers major in Science
and Mathematics under the Department of Science and Mathematics Education, College of
Education in MSU-IIT.
