Complete your assignment, following the next steps.

1. Establish a commission in charge of defining the


generalities of the project in terms of format.
Ideas: by genre, by artists, by theme, etc.

2. Choose your song based on the format chosen


and proposed by the class.

3. Assign a commission in charge of adding up all


the analysis and preparing a 10 page maximum
booklet including cover page, introduction,
importance of poetry in English teaching and
learning, poetic elements, writers' list, and
references. This comission, maximum 5, won't
do the analysis but will present the project.

4. Find a school you could donate your POECT to.

5. Work on your analysis being respectful of the


template, if there's one, and including all the
elements.

Header: song title, artist, and lyrics' QR code.

Theme: what message does it convey? (The overall


message, for example: love can conquer even the greatest
of evils.)

Connection: specific examples of how this message is


relavant in today's world. (A parallel between the text and
an outside experience to better understand the plot.)

Purpose: think of the why behing the song, add some


historial, political, or social background. (The author's
reason or intention for writing.)

Influence: what influence does it have in its listeners, is


there a responsibility for positive change. (The song
provokes emotions and thoughts, explain them)

Re-title: how could it be named differently. (The


appropriate alternate title)

Literary devices used throughout the song: simile,


metaphor, personification; explain them. (Explain how
they add a different layer of meaning)

Symbolism: describe an image or symbol. (Add the


picture showing it)

After next class


Add the song and color code the following: favorite line,
favorite verse, favorite stanza, the rhyme scheme, a
rhyming couplet, and a quatrain.
