3. Click on “Reporting”
4. Click on the desired report to run by typing the File Name from the table below in the
FILE NAME search bar in STAR

5. Choose a “First Date” and “Last Date” (Make sure the range is no longer than a month
and that the data is all from the same month; for example, 1/1/2021-1/31/2021)
*DBDAYS ONLY HAS AN OPTION TO CHOOSE “LAST DATE” *
6. Use the “Group #” feature to retrieve the data based on a certain attribute(s) (See
figures below for specific parameter for each file)
8. To save the file, click on the “Save” icon ( ) which will reveal a dropdown menu
12. Once the file is in the folder, be sure to rename the file as laid in out in the naming
conventions (see table below)
13. Below is what a successful rename should look like
14. Go to the Power BI homepage
16. Shade over “DB Finance” and three dots should appear to the right. Click on those three
dots
17. A dropdown menu will appear. Click “Edit”
18. Shade over “Financial Reporting Dashboards_Dec_22_22” dataset and a refresh icon
will appear. Click on that and wait for it to load.
19. Move over to the actual Power BI App (Financial Reporting Dashboards_Dec_22_22 - Power
BI)
20. In the top right corner of the Power BI App is a toolbar. Look for the refresh icon.
a. After clicking the icon, the data may not populate right away. It may take 10-60
minutes (or even longer) to update.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- If you opt to not use the manual refresh feature, the app will update automatically via
the scheduled refresh feature (one update per day).
- It should take approximately 30 minutes to upload the data for all the reports (monthly).
- Some reports will not have certain parameters listed (e.g., DBDAYS does not have an
option for “First Date,” only for “Last Date”).
- If parameters do not match as displayed below, the model will not update correctly.
- When moving the updated STAR reports into the SharePoint folder, make sure to
maintain the same naming conventions.
- The SRARREC_WPY_Monthly Report will need two reports run each month. One for JPP
and one for AM.
