stabilizing time for the gas detectors from the instant they were turned ON.

5.4.4 Connect a digital volt meter (DVM) to test points TP1 and TP2 on the amplifier PCB,
the DVM should be set to the dc mV range.

5.4.5 Zeroing the Detector

Ensure you are in clean air, free from combustible and toxic gases. Adjust the “ZERO”
pot on the amplifier until the DVM reads 40mV.

5.4.7 Connect the 2ft clear tube (Crowcon P/N CRWS1004) to the 0.5L/min flow regulator
Crowcon P/N CRWS1002). Then connect the regulator to H2S the gas can (Crowcon
P/N CRWS0004).

Note:
It is recommended that the needle valve of the regulator is left slightly in its ‘Open’
position while making the initial connection to the gas bottle. Once you see the
gas coming out from the other end of the tube fully close the needle valve. This
prevents any chances of air getting inside the cylinder and affecting the gas
concentration.

5.4.8 Connect the loose end of the 2ft clear tube (Crowcon P/N CRWS1004) to either of the
nipples on the calibration adapter.

Do not disclose, use or reproduce without written approval from Schlumberger.

5.4.9 Calibrating the Detector

Apply calibration gas to the detector at a flow rate of 0.5 – 1 liter per minute via flow
adaptor (Crowcon P/N C03005). Allow the gas reading to stabilize and adjust the
“CAL” pot until the DVM reads 120 mV.

5.4.10 Remove the gas and allow the sensor to stabilize then re-check the zero setting.
Close the junction box ensuring it is securely tightened then tighten the grub-screw.

The detector is now calibrated and operational.

Do not disclose, use or reproduce without written approval from Schlumberger.

5.5.3 Allow the detector to stabilize. Manufacturer recommends a minimum 1hour of

stabilizing time for the gas detectors from the instant they were turned ON.

5.5.4 Balancing the Pellistors

Before calibrating the detector, the pellistors must be balanced. To do this, remove
the PCB cover and connect a digital volt meter (DVM) to test points TP3 and TP4. The
DVM should be set to the DC mV range and the potentiometer marked “VR3” should
be adjusted until the DVM reads 0.00mV.
