We may think that wars only existed with guns and weapons, but there is also a war between gender. During
ancient times inequality existed already between gender and sexes and it is an eye opening about the
struggles of equality before up until now.
The role between men and women identifies how it changes through time. Gender transition develop
through time according to its needs, demand, and behavior. For example, the video indicated that in a remote
area or village women are considered the housekeeper and men are the hunters. Women are assigned for
household chores while men seek for food and provide the needs of the family. With its transition nowadays
both men and women seek or provide the needs of the family. But, in what concept thus inequality exist that
change in today presence? In the video provided, women before have no rights not to be pregnant with the
law provided, women must or gave birth. But today women have the right not to be pregnant with help of
various contraception's. In this practices women are empowered to choose the life they want, the number of
family they want to have, and their sexual freedom.
Morris indicated a dominant who runs the society during those days known as the great goddess which is a
woman whom also considered powerful during their time.
Women before pray for more children, fertility. While men are considered accessories almost disposable
while women are the essential figure were everything revolved.
The video show how gender role changes form time to time. Gender role for woman become more explicit
and indicate that a feminist movement to express their women rights to vote and on their jobs. Also taken
part of a new direction of freedom which is for the LGBTQ plus community who empowered their rights
and freedom as women and as part of the community.
The fact that maternal duties didn’t marginalize the females and cast them out into society. While males
hunting lives marginalized despite of the woman maternal duties remained in the center of the society.
Woman central role not by restructuring the society but simply leaving the home and joining the males
workplace. Woman must also be introduce and allow to a male job this allow them to demonstrate their
equality and in intelligence and ambition.
In conclusion, as I further understand the real concept of difference (gender role) that we have but treated as
equal with no position needed to be treated well. The gender role that changes from time to time really do
existed and this is how women and men not just being women and men but being part of the society
performing their role and their rights that they practice. As a woman that is treated equally in this society I
felt the freedom I want by doing what I want. Also this video is an eye opening since it in tells about my
purpose, my role (gender and sex), and my responsibility as an individual who believe that we are all equal
wherever are difference may flourished.
