The students in the long run and on their own will be able to demonstrate an understanding
composing a variety of journalistic or fictional texts, he contents of which may be used in
composing a text, featuring use of properly acknowledged information sources, grammatical
signals for opinion-making, persuasion and emphasis that makes God’s gifts to us be highlighted.
Essential Understanding:
Develop characters and individuals with dialogue, actions, and description.

I. Preliminaries:

Motivation
Students will watch a pixar movie short entitled: Game Changer

Activating Prior Knowledge (APK)


 Who were the characters?
 Describe the girl and the toy wrestler.
 Compare and contrast the two characters
 What is each of the characters’ defining characteristics?

II. Lesson Development


Objectives:
At the end of the discussion learners will be able to:
 Analyze a character’s traits and how it affects the entire plot of a story.
 Write a character sketch through a method of indirect characterization; Speech,
thoughts, effect on others toward the character, actions, and looks. (S.T.E.A.L.)
 Appreciate the importance of creating a character sketch as an essential part of
writing a short story or novel.

The class will be divided into four, then they will create a character sketch of their favorite
fiction character on a ½ sheet of paper (crosswise)
