Superpowers :

- Can send messages between nerve cells and regulates their intensity
- Plays a big role in mood, emotions, appetite and digestion.
- From her mother Melatonia’s power, she can help regulate sleep-wake cycles and the body
clock.
- Plays a role in the central nervous system, possibly having an impact on : bone metabolism,
cardiovascular health, blood clotting, and neurological disorders.
- Switch to the form of SSRIs - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors to be used as an
antidepressant.
- Comes in other forms to help with : bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bulimia,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorders, and migraines.
Malfunctions :
- Can have side effects as a cause of too much power or too little when used in the form of SSRIs,
such as : nausea and vomiting, restlessness and agitation, indigestion, diarrhea or constipation,
weight or appetite loss, increased sweating, dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia, feeling shaky,
dry mouth, headache, low sex drive, and erectile dysfunction.
- In more severe cases, there can also be : bruising or bleeding easily, confusion, body stiffness,
hallucinations and difficulty urinating.
- Using the powers of Serotonia Smicha too much to boost your serotonin levels or if you
combine her powers in two or more forms, it can malfunction and cause serotonin syndrome,
which is life threatening. This is due to your body’s reaction to the drug which causes high levels
of serotonin in the body.
- Using Serotonia’s powers in a drug form for depression, will not work immediately. Symptoms
may worsen before improving , this can lead to suicidal thoughts.
- You can still have serotonin deficiency, meaning, low levels of Serotonia’s power resulting in low
levels of Serotonin. This can lead to memory problems or a low mood, this can also be because
you have depression.
- If you use drugs such as MDMA (ecstasy), your body will release large amounts of serotonin,
which might be hard for Serotonia to fight against. This could lead to serotonin depletion, low
mood, confusion, etc, for a few days.
- These drugs could also damage Serotonia’s nerves containing serotonin , with possible
long-lasting effects.

Note : Serotnia’s last name Simcha, means happiness, or joy, relating to the role serotonin plays in the
mood of humans. I also chose this name because serotonin is also known as the happy chemical.
Serotonia Simcha

Serotonia Smicha was indeed a normal girl, who, like every other teen, went to school, played sports,
had parties, etc. One day she was feeling very unwell and super moody. Things escalated very quickly.
She was dying of pain, shaking, and sweating as a cause of the SSRI she took to help with her
depression. She was brought to the hospital, where she lost her pulse and had to be defibrillated three
times to get back her heartbeat. On the days of recovery, she didn’t feel anything at first, but then she
realized she gained some powers. That’s how the supergirl Serotonia Smicha was born!
Do you have problems with sleeping? Eating and Digesting? Depression? Well, worry no more, because
Serotonia is here to the rescue. Serotonia Simcha is a powerful hero, naturally helping stabilize people’s
mood quite efficiently. Serotonia is always happy because one of her main superpowers include :
regulating your mood, when her powers are low, that’s when you might become depressed. However,
Serotonia uses her powers to send messages to your brain which has a major influence on your mental
health and brain function. Serotonia comes to the rescue when you have anxiety disorder,
obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias, and even
epilepsy. Serotonia has gotten some of her powers from her mother Melania (Melatonin), also helping
you regulate your body’s sleep-wake cycle. Your gut bacteria helps to boost the power of Serotonia
because the energy she needs to help you out is found in the lining of the stomach and intestines.
Serotonia can also change appearance to help you in the form of reuptake inhibitors (Selective
Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) when you have anxiety and depression, acting as antidepressants. She
comes in the form of SSRIs through :Citalopram (Celexa), Fluoxetine (Prozac), Sertraline (Zoloft), etc.
These help boost Serotonia’s powers in your brain. In this form she can block the absorption of
serotonin by the nerve cells which keeps more of it available for passing along further messages between
nerve cells in your brain. In the case of severe depression, you can use the help of Serotonia’s powers to
uplift your mood! Serotonia’s brother Tryptohenex (Tryptophan), contains important amino acids that
support the levels of Serotonia’s powers (serotonin). You can get this from the protein rich food you eat
such as : Eggs, nuts and seeds, turkey and other poultry, cheese, etc. This could potentially boost
Serotnia’s powers in the brain and help treat depression symptoms. So, if you ever need a mood booster
when you are too happy, very sad, angry, depressed, stressed….. Serotonia Simcha will be here to the
rescue!
