 The Beighton Cup was initially organized by the Indian Football


Association until the Calcutta Hockey League took over in 1905.
 To celebrate 150 years, the Calcutta Polo Club organized the Ezra
World Cup at the Pat Williamson Ground, Kolkata from December
18th to 25th, 2011.
 The first recipients of the Dhyan Chand award were Shahuraj
Birajdar (Boxing), Ashok Diwan (Hockey), and Aparna Ghosh
(Basketball), who were honoured in 2002.
 The BC Roy Trophy is an Indian football tournament for players
under 19 years of age. The competition is held every year between
the under-19 teams representing states of India. Current Champion is
Mizoram (2018-2019)
 Durand Cup is a football competition in India which was first held in
1888 in Annandale, Shimla.
 The first edition of the Rangaswamy Cup tournament was won by
United Provinces who defeated Rajputana 3-1 in the final held at
Calcutta.
 The Ranji trophy was donated by Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja of
Patiala. The first match was held on 4 November 1934 between
Madras and Mysore at the Chepauk ground in Madras.
