Introductory Message
Welcome to Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship Grade 12!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the


Schools Division of Silay and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through
the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to
guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents, and responsible adults) in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to


guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For the learning facilitator:


The Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship Learning
Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the teaching-learning activities specified in
each Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face
encounter between you and the learner. This will be made available to the learners
with the references/links to ease the independent learning.

Activity Sheet is developed to help you continue learning even if you are not in
school. This learning material provides you with meaningful and engaging activities
for independent learning. Being an active learner, carefully read and understand the
instructions then perform the activities and answer the assessments. This will be
returned to your facilitator on the agreed schedule.

process. The effectiveness of a community – action initiatives may vary on its
adherent to its core values and principles.

In this lesson, you will focus on the assessment of the selected community-
action initiatives based on its core values and principles.

IV. Activity Proper

Activity 1
1. Directions/Instructions
Read and understand the underlying concept of community action initiatives.

In the current situation that the country is facing and struggling amidst the
pandemic, the government is expected to generate and aid communities, specifically
the least and the lost. Various Community action initiatives are set forth by the
government to deliver basic services to the community. In community action
initiative, both the members and the organizations serve as the channel for change.
To achieve better quality of life, involvement in planning and implementation of the
members in this community action initiatives is highly encouraged.

The success of the community action initiative may not solely depend on
planning, implementation, and attainment of their objectives. Factors such as values
being prioritized while the project are carried out are also considered. Initiative must

anchor its objectives in terms of core values and principles, the Human rights, Social
justice, Gender quality and Empowerment advocacy.
Comprehensive Community initiatives involves partnership that take part
several interrelated activities occurring simultaneously. Some of the issues and
concerns addressed by comprehensive community initiatives are education related
concerns, the not fair treatment of poor and marginalized, crimes and violence
committed by young individual.

was implemented and what was the result? Write your answer on a separate sheet
of paper.

Exercise 2 Take a closer look!

Directions: Considering the current situation, local government in cooperation with


other non-government organization are mobilizing community initiative to augment
aid and services to improve the quality of life of the members. Below is a table of
some initiative or program. Complete by filling in based on your own observation and
point of view, then answer the guide questions. Write your answer on a separate
sheet.
