RE: SEEKING APPROVAL FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR ROAD AND
SAFETY OPERATION FROM 8th OF DECEMBER, 2022, TO 02 ND OF
JANUARY, 2022

I am writing in regards to the above-mentioned subject and wish to seek the approval
from your good office for the Road Safety Operation to be carried out from the dates
as mentioned above.

The main purpose of the Road Traffic and Safety Operation is to ensure that every
vehicles and its users abided to the Road Traffic Act (2017) and Regulations during
the festive season to minimise any road related accidents as experienced in the past
years. This operation will be carried out jointly by the Police Road and Safety Unit
and Provincial Revenue Officers where road blocks and vehicle checks will be
carried out during this operation. On the same, in this operation any vehicles found
to be breeching the Road Traffic Act (2017) and Regulations will be penalised under
the Road Traffic (offences and Penalties) Regulations accordingly.

We hoped that through this operation many vehicle owners and drivers will abide by
the Road Traffic Act and Regulations.

Also, find attached is the Monthly Plan for December, 2022, done by the Provincial
Traffic Registry Officer which also highlighted the same.
