POPDANCE MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. Each team shall be composed of at least 7 to 10 dancers.

2. Each team shall submit their music 15 minutes before the competition.
3. The team is NOT ALLOWED to use pointed jewelries during the performance.
Accessories must be safe and shall not in any way harm the dancers during their
routines.
4. Costumes must follow standard pop dancing attire and must be free from hazardous
materials such as pins and pointed objects.
5. Each team shall be represented by their official coach or year level coordinator.
6. The technical working group (TWG) have the right to stop a routine if there is an
injured performer on the floor during the actual performance. In this event, the routine
is scored accordingly and will not be given a continuation.
7. The presentation shall be at least a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum 5 minutes
performance including preparation, entrance and exit.
8. The music is a remix of folkdance, TikTok, and a music of their choice.
9. The participating teams should be at the school gymnasium before 1:00 P.M. of
February 24, 2023.
10. A 1-point deduction from the overall score for every violation to the general rules
shall be imposed.
11. The decision of the Board of Judges is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.

2. Each Grade Level will select a representative in the said contest.

5. The participant should finish the whole duration of the song.
6. The attire must be decent and appropriate for the competition.
7. Submit music in CD audio, or on USB flash drive to the contest in-charge

9. Violation to any rule will result to deductions.

MECHANICS FOR CONTEMPORARY DANCE
1. The competition is open category.

2. All entries should have a maximum of 2 members. who may either be composed of all
male and female or a combination of both.
3. The duration of the dance should not be less than 3 minutes and not more than 5
minutes. one (1) point deduction shall be imposed to every exceeding minute.
4. No vulgarity, obscenity, and explicit content are allowed.
5. Each group is allowed to use props and other appropriate materials in their dance
except the fire, bottle, or any breakable items.
6. The competition music must not contain inappropriate or any offensive language.
7. Any violation of the above rules & mechanics of the competition will lead to one (1)
point deduction from each judge’s score sheets.
8. The judges look for performances are different, unique, original, and captivating.
9. The contestants should be at the school gymnasium before 7:30 A.M. of February 25, 2023.

Mechanics for Galaw Pilipinas
Galaw Pilipinas was developed as response to the impact of the pandemic to our learners’
reduced physical activities that affected their overall health. Our role in promoting physical
fitness and a healthy lifestyle among our learners has become even more relevant and
essential. One avenue of promoting physical fitness among learners is by doing calisthenics.
To promote an active lifestyle among Filipinos, the Department of Education (DepEd) has
launched the Galaw Pilipinas, the Department’s National Calisthenics Exercise Program that
will be part of the daily exercise routine in schools and community learning centers.
Galaw Pilipinas is a four-minute calisthenics routine that shall contribute to the 60 minutes of
moderate to vigorous physical activity prescribed daily for children of 5-17 years of age.
The routine was inspired by simple steps inspired by Philippine folk dances, festival
movements, and arnis stances in recognition as the national martial art and sport.
