    Job Fitting Problems: Unclear Job Expectations


    Every new position comes with a job description that includes an outline of duties. Without training and
    coaching, however, it is quite difficult for team members to achieve peak performance. Every job has a
    learning curve, which has a significant impact on how well a person does in the long run. Some
    individuals spend years at their work attempting to deduce what their manager's expectations are. Others
    give up and leave. Someone may lose confidence and become defensive if they are unclear about how
    they should behave. Wouldn't it be simpler to be clear about what you anticipate from the team member
    up front and prevent irritation that frequently leads to conflict? Avoid conflicts by making your team
    members aware of what’s expected of them, so they can perform with confidence.
