IDEA PITCH
 MY IDEA
The Idea I have had for my final project is to create
a music based magazine for print. However as print
isn’t the most popular way of viewing magazines I
am going to integrate QR codes into the designing
to have a magazine that can be read but also have
elements you can view digitally, this will most likely
be done by having QR codes on each page leading
to music videos or songs.
 PROBLEMS MY IDEA SOLVES
• one problem that my idea solves is that print
isn’t the most popular magazine format. However
I hope to solve this problem by creating a new
interest in print magazines by implementing the
interactive parts, this would give the magazine
additional digital elements.
• Another problem I hope to solve is that there
aren’t really any modern music magazines that
appeal to a younger target audience. My idea
could hopefully be a refreshing new spin on
music magazines and appeal to gen z.
 PROBLEMS I COULD ENCOUNTER

• Not meeting the deadline

• Not successfully designing for my target audience
• Adobe programs not working
• Losing work

These are all problems that Could happen during my project. However I will try to
stop these from happening by making sure I save my work frequently, making sure I
plan efficiently and making sure I do enough research.

I researched into multiple different music

magazines, however most of them didn’t
have the type of style or branding I wanted.
Therefore I looked into eye magazine which is
a graphic design magazine. I really liked how
some of eye magazines covers looked and I
feel like a style alike would work well for my
idea.

In future I plan to research more into

techniques and design process. This is
necessary for designing and making sure I
have my project planned out.

As I would like my magazine to be print and statistics

show that print isn’t the most popular I would like to
target my magazine towards gen z. Above is a
website linked that talks about gen z’s low attention
span. This is why I would like to have a more design
approach to my magazine as I feel like too much text
and information could have a negative effect on my
target audience. This is also one of the reasons why
I would like to include digital elements as doing so
would hopefully interest gen z.
 WHAT I AIM TO CREATE
AND HOW I WILL PRESENT IT
• For my project I will first need to create the branding behind my
magazine.

• Then I will start planning out my magazine and which artists to use for
it.

• I will also need to create the interactive elements for my magazine.

• I will first create it in InDesign and then additionally create some mock-
ups for pages of the magazine.

• I will then also print copies of my magazine to see how it could look as a
real life mock-up.
