IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager

About the job

We have an exciting opportunity for IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager. The position will
be reporting to Head of IT and will be responsible for managing the overall operations and
support of information systems and ensuring the optimal usage of IT infrastructure resources and
capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Support

 Active involvement in IT financial management to control operational cost expenditures,


costing of IT services, budget planning and tracking
 Develop and maintain an IT continuity plan based on risks analysis that will help reduce
the impact of major systems disruption on key business functions and processes

Operational Role

 Manage the implementation and maintenance of technology solutions deployed in


Cloud, Hosted Data Centers, and Stores
 Review and assess new technology solutions that can potentially benefit Liwa business
development, build business cases.
 Manage effective and optimal operations of all IT infrastructure services & IT security and
provide appropriate management reports.
 Monitor and improve operational service levels by implementing policies
 Identify areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementation.
 Manage escalations with respective technology and telecommunication vendors to find
solutions.
 Implement, maintain and ensure compliance of policies, processes, and procedures, as
well as associated training plans for the IT operations team.
 Ensure any internal or external audit observations related to IT infrastructure are
addressed in a timely and accurate fashion

Cloud and Hosted Datacentre Management

 Maintain and optimize Datacenter operations both in the cloud and hosted data centers.
 Maintain Incident Management controls of Cloud and Data Center
 Vendor coordination - OEMs and system integrators - on AMC renewals, new equipment
purchases

Commercial and Budgeting Responsibilities

 Accountable for the infrastructure budget and support the Head of IT in the development
of annual IT budget.
 Oversee all IT Infrastructure-related purchasing and budget usage
 IT Management, Projects, and Business Departments on the IT Infrastructure
requirements of installed and planned IT equipment, covering desktop hardware and
software, POS, network, security, IP telephones, servers, storage, CCTV, Footfall Counting
and all peripheral equipment.
 Manages the execution of infrastructure changes in compliance with given guidelines and
procedures.

Business Relationships

 Improve customer service and increase information delivery to all the users by deploying
effective SLA between IT and Business.
 Works closely with Head of IT and Procurement/Finance to manage strategic vendor
partner relationships.

Project Management

 Manage projects and IT initiatives pertaining to IT infrastructure and ensure they are
within project parameters.
 Provide resources and support from infrastructure perspective to project acting as the
Technology Lead /Architect supporting the Program Manager
 Lend expertise to internal teams and task forces. Review the status reports of I&O team
leads and team members across projects and addresses issues as appropriate.
 Planning, project management and implementation leadership, identifying opportunities
for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.

Security and Risk Management

 Ensure that the infrastructure is adequately secured and to that objective carry out
regular vulnerability and risk management exercise to review the systems and process
and propose changes in the same, so as reduce exposure to downtime risks.
 Perform periodical security assessments and ensure resulting recommendations are
addressed efficiently and timely.
 Ensure that Disaster Recovery systems and policies are in place to reduce risk exposure
for the company.
 Ensure insurance coverage for all Company IT assets and ensure that the company’s
interests are protected at all times.

People Development

 Lead the I&O team in the achievement of the departmental objectives by ensuring that
the right calibre of people is recruited considering the technical and functional
competencies and the necessary drive to handle the nature of job; and are trained and
motivated to perform their jobs effectively.
 Manage the development of Team Leads and team members. Assign tasks to staff to give
them an opportunity to grow.
 Participate in performance evaluations and career development planning.
 Identify training needs and select appropriate training for team members. Manage the
development of project teams by ensuring that project tasks are in line with individual
career aspirations.

Skills and Qualification:

 Around 10-15 years of IT and business/industry work experience in a retail/enterprise


environment with minimum of 5 years' experience on a managerial role and have hand-
on experience in IT infrastructure management of Systems, Cloud, Infrastructure
Applications, network and voice technologies, IT infrastructure security, data center
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electronics/IT.
