III. POST-WRITING
Task 1: Checklist for self / peer assessment.
Below is a checklist for the outline of a descriptive paragraph. Use these questions to check
your own writing, or get a peer (another student) to help you.

1. Does the outline have a topic sentence?

2. Does the outline have supporting sentences?

3. Does each supporting sentence relate to the topic?

4. Do the supporting sentences include the details relating


to some or all five senses (taste, touch, smell, sound, and
sight)?

5. Does the concluding sentence rephrase the topic


sentence (repeat in different words)?

Task 2: Brainstorm ideas for the following topic.

Describe your pet or your favorite animal.

Here are some suggested questions:

3. What does it often do?

4. How do you feel about your pet/animal?
