concepts and practicing - A process of a learning, Ma’am
new skills #1 - For a formal concept, Ma’am

Yes, nice idea. Thank you.

A flowchart is a diagram that uses graphic symbols to depict

the nature and flow of the steps in a process. Another name for
this tool is "flow diagram."

 Does anyone have an idea about flowchart? - Ma’am, flowchart has a different shape.
- A lot of arrow or symbol, Ma’am.
Nice, Thank you. You may sit down.
A flowchart is a useful tool to design an efficient business
system and to troubleshoot or improve an existing system.

 Do you have an idea what are the Elements of a - Start and end, Ma’am
Flowchart? - Connection and arrows Ma’am
Okay, thank you. Very good.
Class, a flowchart consists of elements, such as the terminator,
process, sub process, decision, arrow lines, and connectors.

 Now, do you have an idea now? - Ma’am, we are just familiar with the arrow and connectors.
Arrows help us to connect our ideas to other ideas.

1. Terminator. Who wants to read the meaning? Students will raise their hand.
- A terminator is represented by a small rectangle with
curved corners. A terminator appears at the start and at the
end of a flowchart. The end terminator appears only once
on a single flowchart.

 What does terminator represented, can you draw it on Students will raise their hand, if they know what is.
the board, what it is look like? - Students will draw it on the board.

2. Process. Who wants to read the meaning? Students will raise their hand.
- A process is represented by a rectangle. It refers to an
action in a business process. It must be described clearly
and concisely. A process can be described using a single
verbnoun phrase; for example, “Order Office Supplies.” The
same level of detail must be kept in processes on a single
flowchart.
 What shape it is represented? Who wants to draw it on
the board? Students will raise their hand.
Okay, Ms/ Mr go to the board and show us what process is - Students will draw it on the board.

3. Sub-process. Who wants to read? - Ma’am, A sub-process is represented by a rectangle with

double lines on each side. A subprocess is a major process
that could be broken up into simpler processes developed
into another flowchart.

 What does sub- process look like, class? - Students will draw it on the board.
Very good. Thank you.

4. Decision. Who wants to read the meaning of decision? Students will raise their hand.
- A decision is represented by a diamond. A process that can
answer a decision of “yes” or “no” requires a decision box.
 Who wants to draw the shape that decision is
represented?
Okay, go the board Mr/Ms thank you. Very good. - Students will draw it on the board.

5. Connector. Who wants to read the meaning of

connector?
- Ma’am, a connector is represented by a small circle or a
connector box and is abelled using letters. A flowchart
written on a single page is clearer than a flowchart on
several pages. A connector ensures that the processes are
 Who wants to draw the shape of a connector? Okay, connected logically and correctly on several pages.
Ms/Mr, go to the board?
- Student will draw it on the board.

6. Arrow Lines, who wants to read the meaning? - Arrow lines drawn in one direction, preferably from top to
bottom, keep a flowchart clear. Avoid arrow lines that loop
because this could indicate redundancy in the business
process.
 Can you show me, what it is look like?
- Student will draw it on the board.

Very good, class. Let us all give us a (ang galing galing ko clap) Student will do the ang galing galing ko clap.

5. Developing mastery
(Leads to Formative Students will gather their member and will create a circle.
Assessment 3) Teacher will group the students based on the rows. After that
they will gather their member and form a circle.

Instruction: You will create a flowchart. Based on our

discussion for today.

6. Finding Practical
applications of concepts What is the purpose of using a flowchart in your daily lives? Using a flowchart can help us to know and explain step by step the
