5 Explain the differences between a 2nd class and a 3rd class lever system and describe how they operate to
produce movement in sport.

Second class levers have the load in the middle - This means a large load can be moved with
relatively low effort. Third class levers have the effort in the middle. - This means they can
produce a large range of movement with relatively low effort. [4]
