Job Summary and Scope of Responsibilities

MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Provides the support necessary to contribute towards efficient health, safety, and environmental
management to create secure, safe, and healthy working conditions throughout the site, while
protecting the environment during project execution phase. Reports to Senior HSE Engineer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HSE Support Responsibilities
1. Supports drilling projects planning phase and operations in developing and implementing HSE
plans, impact assessments and risk assessments.
2. Works with the different project contractors to implement corrective actions from HSE audits,
inspections, incidents, and meetings.
3. Ensures corrective actions from HSE observation system are tracked and completed and follows
up on outstanding actions.
4. Leads/participates in incident investigations and report writing to ensure timely delivery.
5. Implements a work permit audit plan for drilling operations.
6. Reports any unsafe behaviors, unsafe acts and conditions to management and promotes the
reporting of unsafe acts and conditions to the workforce.
7. Maintains high standards of HSE leadership at all times and advises on HSE best practices.
8. Ensures HSE daily, weekly, and monthly reports are prepared in a professional and timely manner.
9. Carries out HSE inductions and training as required.
10. Interprets/translates HSE information/documents into Kurdish.
11. Prepares and distributes HSE posters and information and delivers safety awareness sessions as
required.
12. Attends and actively participates in all rig site HSE meetings and monitors daily site activities.
13. Organizes and participates in emergency drills and supports implementation of lessons learnt.
14. Plays a critical role at site in emergency response situations to minimize actual and potential
impacts.
15. Reports to the drilling HSE supervisor on all day-to-day issues relating to HSE within drilling
operations and works closely with the field operations team to provide HSE support and oversight.
16. Develops own professinal expertise through optimising on-the-job and additional training by
exploring latest HSE practices especially within remote locations.

17. Communicates and collaborates with other Company assets and entities to ensure good
cooperation while managing different interfaces such as SIMOPS, emergency management, etc.

Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required

• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent.
• Post-secondary education (college or university), preferably in health, safety, or
environment is a must.

Working and Other Reporting Relationships

Senior HSE Engineer Frequent
HSE Supervisor Daily

Minimum Professional Experience Required

• 10 years’ experience in an HSE role and a minimum of 5 years supporting drilling field
operations.
• Fluent in Kurdish and English: speaking, reading, and writing.
• Prior experience working for the Khormor project would be an asset.
