FACT ABOUT SCOOTERING :

- Scooters are also known as kick scooters.

-Street riding is also a great platform to ride as it gives interesting challenges such as gaps, grind,
combinations and lines that they would not normally find in a skatepark.

-Most scooter riders enjoy street riding, but only a small group would declare themselves as
focusing strictly on street riding.

-When street riding, most scooter riders focus on cleanliness of tricks, or how easy it looks for a
rider to do them.

-Street scootering also focuses on a rider's style or original way of doing tricks or looking while
riding a scooter.

-The sport is also known as freestyle scootering.

BIOGRAPHY

Eleanor Marie Robertson, better known as Nora Roberts is one of the most famous
American novelists in romantic genera. She was born on October 10th, 1950 in Silver
Spring, Maryland, USA. Born to Irish descendent parents, she describes herself as “an
Irish woman through and through”. Since her childhood Nora remembers herself
being fond of reading. Her family always had passion for reading; this developed a
never ending bond between Nora and writing which she delightfully embraced. So far
she has written 209 novels with over 400 million copies in print worldwide.

In 1968 Nora married her first husband Ronald Aufdem Brinke soon after her
graduation from high school. After marriage she spent most of her time with her sons
at home doing crafts. She refers to that period of her life as Earth Mother years.

LEWIS ISLAND

1) The climate

-In Isle of Lewis, the summers are short, cool, and windy; the winters are long, very
cold, wet, and extremely windy; and it is mostly cloudy year round. Over the course
of the year, the temperature typically varies from 36°F to 61°F and is rarely below
29°F or above 66°F.

2) The population

- from 2001 to 2011 some island areas have experienced an increase in population,
Barra and Vatersay experiencing the highest increase at 8% and Lewis and Benbecula
experiencing a 6% increase.
3) The history

- It is thought that Christianity arrived on Lewis in the 6th century. The Norse
domination of the Stornoway and indeed the Hebrides occurred from 800 to 1266 AD.
When the Vikings arrived, taking The Isle of Lewis under their control in the 9th
Century they actually converted to Christianity themselves.

4) The typical food

-These bountiful seas offer up Hebridean salmon, hand dived-scallops, langoustines,


crab, lobster and a wide range of fresh fish and other seafood. The catch of the day
will very often grace the tables of our island restaurants and eateries

5) Getting to the island

-The main ferry to Lewis is from Ullapool on the mainland, which takes 2 hours 45
minutes. You can also travel from Skye to Harris and drive north. Vehicle
reservations are recommended
