LEARNING ACTIVITY TEN

Non-verbal communication such as body language can tell the speaker about the
person listening in five ways:
Their level of interest and attention
Their emotional state
Their level of agreement or disagreement
Their level of confidence and assertiveness
Their level of receptiveness to the message.
LEARNING ACTIVITY ELEVEN

True open communication in the workplace means that there is a culture of

transparency and honesty where employees feel comfortable sharing their thoughts,
ideas, and feedback with their colleagues and superiors.

When it comes to a 'diverse' workplace, workers need to develop cultural

sensitivity, respect for different opinions, and an understanding of how cultural
differences can affect communication.

LEARNING ACTIVITY TWELVE

Assigned or agreed tasks are generally outlined in workplace documents such as

project plans, work orders, task lists, and schedules.

The five pieces of information that these types of documents contain are:

The description of the task or project

The deadline for completion
The resources needed
The desired outcome or goal
The person or team responsible for completing the task.
LEARNING ACTIVITY THIRTEEN

'Complement' means to work well with other parts or elements, and this is important
in an engineering, manufacturing, or production workplace because the different
parts of a system need to work together smoothly and efficiently to achieve the
desired result.

Every worker should regularly monitor their work progress to ensure that they are
meeting their goals and deadlines, and to identify any areas for improvement.

LEARNING ACTIVITY FOURTEEN

The three ways to monitor work progress are:

Setting clear goals and objectives
Keeping track of one's work and progress
Seeking feedback from colleagues and superiors.
It is important to discuss modifications with one's supervisor before making them
to ensure that they are in line with the company's policies and procedures, and
that they will not negatively impact the quality or safety of the work.

A 'standard operating procedure' is a set of step-by-step instructions that

describes how to carry out a specific task or process in a consistent and efficient
manner.
