CT Analyzer Calibration Instructions Application Note CTA 005

General
Step 3: Start the test
OMICRON offers a reference CT (calibration CT
VEHZ0649) for calibrating the CT Analyzer. This
reference CT is delivered together with a calibration
certificate from a national test laboratory. The Step 4: Assessment
calibration CT is a class 0.02% CT and has a ratio of Compare the CT Analyzer test results with the results in
2000:1 and 2000:5. the calibration report delivered with the reference CT.
To do the calibration follow steps 1 to 4. Compare the results at:
100% nominal current and 100% burden and at 50%
Step 1: Connection of reference CT nominal current and 100% burden.

Connect the "OUTPUT" and the measurement input

"SEC" of the CT Analyzer to the secondary side of the
reference CT. Connect the measurement input "PRIM"
to the primary side of the CT.

Step 2: Settings
Turn on the CT Analyzer and enter the settings listed
below on the object page. Keep the listed order when
entering the settings.
1. Standard: 60044-1
2. Type of CT: M (Measurement)
3. Class: 0.1 (CT is of class 0.02)
4. Rated primary current: 2000A
5. Rated secondary current: 1A/5A
6. VA (rated burden): 2.5VA Do the measurement for the 2000/1A and the 2000/5 A
7. Burden (operating burden): 2.5VA winding.
8. CosPhi: 1
If the difference between the results measured from the
CT Analyzer and the data in the test report delivered
with the reference CT are within 0,02%, your CT-
Analyzer is within tolerance.
