The Weather

In class we have studying the weather and the


weather disasters. Flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes,
thunderstorms, and lightning can affect our
homes, safety, and the food we eat. We have also
explored the science of weather forecasting. For
this project you are to gather information from the
resources below regarding the following topics:
 The causes/formation of severe weather conditions
 The dangers associated with each
 Precautions that should be taken

 Atlantic Oceanographic and


Meteorological laboratory- learn more about
hurricanes from this national site.
 The National Hurricane Center- The
National Weather Center provides a great deal
of information at this site about the current
storm season, tracking information, and weather
outlooks. Be sure to spend some time here.
 NOAA Photo Library- Tornadoes-
Explore images of tornadoes presented here.
Look for similarities and differences between the
storm systems.
 Twister: The Tornado story- Learn more
about tornadoes and the damage they can cause
from this interactive site.
