SOLAR SYSTEM & CELESTIAL BODIES - BINGO
Play bingo as a team/family game. You have been given calling cards with ten astronomical names. Cut the
bingo playing blocks and distribute them to each player. One person calls the name from the card and if that
object is placed in your block, then strike it off. You get a point for striking off each row, column, or full block.

Astronomy : Planets and exoplanets

Our solar system is made up of planets. But it has been discovered that there are
some planets outside our solar system which also revolve around the sun. These are
called exoplanets.

With the help of an adult, classify the following as either planets or exoplanets.

Planet Exoplanet

1 Pluto

2 Mercury

3 Identify the planets and

mark them as planet or
exoplanet.

Astronomy : Sky watch

On one clear night with the help of your parents do a sky watch with your naked eyes
and record the observations on a white paper using regular and colour pencil as and
when required.

Mark the four directions on the paper and when sit for observation place the
1
directions written on the paper to the actual directions.

Write the date and time when you are doing the sky watch,
2
on the top right hand corner

Look at any 3 bright stars and the moon and mark their location
3
as you see them on the paper with the correct directions in place.

Keep observing these 3 stars and the moon and mark their position on the paper
4
using a coloured pencil. This shows that their location keeps changing.

5 Locate the bright north pole star and observe if it changes position.

Face North and look up

at the sky
