In this section we will conduct some activities that will give you more knowledge

in relation to our topic Human resource screening.

ACTIVITY NO: 1

You are in charge of screening of all the employees. One day Anna applied in your
company as a marketing officer all of her experience is based on marketing, but unfortunately
there is no opening for that specific job, then suddenly you remember that there is a vacant
position as a customer service assistant. Please answer the following question. (3 pts each)

What would you do with anna? Elaborate your answer.

I will first tell her that the position she is applying for is not open for applications. I will also ask
her if she has experience in being a customer service assistant and if she is interested in being
one. If she has experience, I will evaluate first her skills and potential regarding the position. But
if not, I will reject her and find other suitable candidates that excels in customer service.

Is it possible for you to hire Anna even if there is no vacant position as of the moment?
For me, I will not hire Anna. Excess employment may induce unequal distribution of work,
unequal opportunities, and salary problems. For the application of customer service assistant, I
will find more applicants more suitable and have more experience for the job.

ACTIVITY NO 2.

Which is better, on the job training or off the job training? Why?
In my opinion, on-the-job training is better as it gives the trainee an experience in the working
grounds. It is also cheaper and gives an overview in the everyday job done. It is a good training
ground, especially as rooms to learn, grow, and improve.

Is mentoring advisable? What are the values you will get from this?
Mentoring is highly recommended as it guides the trainees on the structure of the organization
and how it functions. It teaches its trainees how to do the jobs properly, monitors their progress,
and secure their success as contributors to the development of the organization. Mentoring also
practices the values of leadership, obedience, patience, responsibility, respect, and willingness to
improve.
