Utility Assistance

Committed to helping you receive assistance​


If you rent your home and have experienced financial hardship, you may be eligible to
receive utility assistance to help pay your electricity bill. Funding is available for a limited
time through our collaboration with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. To
learn more and apply, visit georgiapower.com/HelpPay​.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST: REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

u Be a Georgia Power customer residing in one of 294 u Georgia Power account number​
specified zip codes across the state​
u Proof of identity​​
u Rent your home
u Verification of income, renter status, and
u Have a balance billed on your Georgia Power account risk of homelessness or housing instability
(such as owing a past-due electric bill)​

Project SHARE

Established in partnership with The Salvation Army, customers can


receive assistance from other residents living in their same community
for expenses such as utility bills, housing, food and medical necessities.

65+
Georgia Power’s Income-Qualified Senior Citizen Discount

Customers 65 years of age or older may qualify for a discount based on


Georgia Power Senior income. In January 2023, the discount was increased by $6 per month,
Citizen Discount bringing the total discount to $30 per month.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Available every year from November to May from the Division of Family
& Children Services, this program helps income-qualified households pay
for heating and cooling costs.
