General aims of the lesson - Students will recognize the long ‘o’ vowel sound.

- Students can communicate in simple ways when people speak slowly to them

Anticipated problems and solutions - Students may have problems with the meaning of vocabulary items => Teacher provides

pictures and hints that help students to guess the meaning of words.

- Students may have problems in pronunciation => Teacher drills pronunciation.

- Students may use Vietnamese to discuss when they do not achieve mutual understanding with

their peers => Teacher allows them to use Vietnamese to express complex concept if needed.

- Some students are active while some are shy and quite => Teacher puts students in pairs and

in groups to encourage students’ participation.

Assessment - To help the student progress in term of their learning, the teacher uses some assessment for

learning strategies during the lesson: Open-ended questions, peer-assessment and teacher’s

oral feedback.
