This first week of the course World Literature, I have read the story “Three Questions” by Leo

Tolstoy. In the story, a king was the main character who was asking three questions to his people

and a sage: When is the best moment to do something? Who are the most crucial individuals to

interact with? What is the most crucial factor? (Tolstoy,1885).

If I had lived in the world of the story, I would have been the king or a normal citizen of the

kingdom. If I were a citizen, I would be worried as the King seemed not a talented one since he

tried to seek the answer to those questions. If I were the King, I would spent time enjoying the

precious moment of the presence, the “NOW”. I would treat well to all people and try my best to

rule them and lead them to happiness.
