Conclusion

Stress in the work place has become the black plague of the present century.

From the above study it is concluded that:

 Much of the stress is created from ill working conditions.


 A large numbers of employees were satisfied with their package but feel that
there is a lack of rewards and praise.
 The employees feel that they were not given autonomy to do their work as
they would like and feel should be given some freedom.
 Most of the employees were not satisfied with the grievance handling
procedure of the organization which was found by the unstructured
interview.
 From the study it was found no employee was suffering from depression but
they were suffering from high blood pressure and headache which can badly
effect their health and their performance and productivity.
 From the study it was found that employees do not mind about their
colleague’s opinion. Thus it is proved that the colleague’s opinion also plays
a lead role in decrease and increase in stress level. Those who mind about
their colleague’s opinion are found to be more stressful.
 The main cause of stress in the employees found out was over overload.
Most of the employee feel that their work was overload.
 From the study it was found out that employees were taking help from
entertainment and exercise and meditation as a measure in managing their
stress.

 It is evident from the study that most of the employees were satisfied with
the organizations steps to manage stress and feel that organizations policies
are stress free.

Organization must begin to manage people at work differently, treating them with
respect and valuing their contribution. If we enhance the psychological well-being
and health of the employees, in the coming future the organization would make
more revenue as well as employee retention. Because it is said that,

“A Healthy Employee is Productive Employee”

Suggestions

 The employees must give importance to time management techniques


thereby they can complete their work within the specified time.

 Many tasks can be delegated to subordinates without losing effectiveness so


that we can reduce the overload of work.

 Adopt the work to home transition strategy. It means instead of carrying the
pressures of the work to home, the suggestion is to start the unwinding
process during the work day and enter the home in a relaxed and peaceful
mind.

 Giving counseling to the employees when they face problems, because


counseling is the discussion of a problem that usually has emotional content
with an employee in order to help the employee cope within better.

 The organization must introduce Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)


and stress control workshops accordingly to the level of employees, because
there is a strong relation between the level of stress and level of employees.
EAP includes counseling employees who seek assistance on how to deal
with alcohol abuse, managing personal finance, handling conflicts at the
workplace, dealing with health problems and family problems.

 Engaging the bored employee in physical exercise, because it stimulates the
brain and the body. Also the employee must do meditation and yoga in their
daily life.

 It has recommended to the company that if stress management techniques


are initiated then the average health of the employees will be better and he
will be able to better cope with stress, then by the level and degree of
performance of the employee will improve.

 It is recommended that the company should give one task at a time and give
sufficient time in meeting the targets so that the employee performs his best
without any stress.

 It is recommended to the company to take appropriate measures in


identifying and arresting the psychological problems, then the health related
problems would also come down. As psychological has a direct impact on
health, the performance of employee will improve.

 It is recommended to the company that bit should improve interpersonal


relationships among the employees of different departments by bridging the
gap between superiors and workers. These can a long way in reducing the
degree stress to some extent.

 It is recommended to the company to initiate a few changes at the workplace


such as timely targets, distributed workload and periodic relaxation.

 It is recommended to the company to instantly recognize any good work


done by the employees however small it may be. They should regard then
suitably and provide them constant encouragement and support. This will

stand in good stead in the long run in sustaining the high morale of the
employees and also enhancing it future.

 The company should provide proper safety gears and headgears to prevent
the workers from any injury.
