    1. Determine the capacity of the joint shown in Fig., if 20mm HSFG bolts are used on clean mill
    scale surface.

    2. A tension member (Tie) of a roof truss consisting of an angle section ISA 90×60×8 in Fe410
    grade steel is to be connected in the field to a 10mm gusset plate through bigger leg using fillet
    welds. Design a moment-free welded connection.

    3. Determine the design tensile strength of plate (160×8mm) connected to 10mm thick gusset using
    16mm bolts, as shown in fig., if the yield and the ultimate stress of the steel used are 250Mpa and
    410Mpa respectively.
