CONDUCT AND PROCESSING OF SUMMER TRAINING REPORTS

BBA(G) &,B.Com(H) SEMESTER-V STUDENTS

Objective

1. As part of academic curriculum, students of BBA(G) and B.Com (H) Semester IV are to constructively
engage themselves in summer training at the end of their Semester IV. The summer training is to be carried out in
a Firm/Company/Industry. On completion of the summer training each and every student is required to submit a
written report in the beginning of Semester-V. The academic objectives of summer training are to:

➢ work and gain knowledge of real business environment;

➢ analyse how theoretical concepts taught are applied/not applied in real situations;

➢ analyse best practices of a company/industry in different functional areas;

➢ enhance analytical and application abilities of students; and

➢ develop skills in technical report writing through data collection, data analysis, data presentation
and draw conclusions/lessons cogently vis-à-vis a given Firm or Company or Industry.

The objective of this Academic Exercise/Circular is to lay clear guidelines for conduct of summer training and
standardise the format of submission of the Project Report.

University Scheme for Summer Training

2. As per the syllabi of BBA(G) & B.Com (H) , students of Semester IV at the end of their semester are to
carry out summer training in a Firm or Company or Industry for the duration of Eight Weeks and to submit a
Report within Six Weeks of the commencement of Vth semester. The Report evaluation has two components, viz.

(a) External : STR (50 Marks); it involves external viva.

(b) Internal : STR (50 Marks); it involves viva and presentation


before an internal Committee.
Scope of Summer Training

3. It is partly responsibility of the student to find a Firm or Company or Industry where he/she intends to
carry out his/her summer training. A firm/company/industry once fixed cannot be changed. It is necessary for
each student to get the approval of the name of firm/company/industry from the Summer Training
Coordinator of the Institute. Each student is required to carry out the work independently and submit the
report individually.

ANY PREVIOUS WORK OR BORROWED REPORT WILL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED AND IN


ALL SUCH CASES OF REJECTION THE WORK IS TO BE REPEATED AFRESH.

Final Report

4. The tentative chapterisation and the format of the Project report are mentioned in these guidelines. All
students are to require to strictly adhering to these guidelines.

5. Students are required to strictly follow the schedule given below:

6. The Summer Training project Coordinators/ Faculty Guides and students allotted under each guide for
BBA(G) and B.Com (H) Semester-V students will be intimated at the start of the semester.
General Guidelines and Format of
Summer Training Project Report
➢ Project should be approved from Project Supervisor on each & every stage.

➢ Project should be Company specific in which student has done his/her summer training and should

be based on Primary & Secondary data

➢ Total No of pages should be 60 approx.

➢ Paper Sheet should be of A4 Size and printed on one side of the paper.

➢ 2 Copies of Project Report (1Hard + 1 Non Spiral file)

➢ Navy Blue Colour with Golden emboss of Hard Bound for BBA(G) and Black colour with Silver

emboss for BBA(B&I)

➢ Font style-Times New Roman

➢ Font Size(Text)-12

➢ Font Size (Main-Heading)-16

➢ Font Size (Sub-Heading)-14

➢ 1.5 Spacing

➢ Alignment Title page (Centre), Heading (Centre) and sub heading (Left)

➢ Body of the text should be Justified.

➢ Margin- At the binding edge(left side) not less than 3 and at the right, bottom and top not less than 2

➢ Page Numbering should start from chapter 1.

➢ First Internal- First 2 Chapters (hard or Soft Copy) preferably hard copy and viva on the same.

➢ Second Internal-Complete Project Hard Copy and Viva on the same.
