Well, I see myself like a traditional person. I believe that the traditions must not change over the
years, because we are in an era totally different and when we celebrate a tradition we are
honoring our ancestors. We are used to achieve all fast: we are the cell phone generation, email,
internet and microwaves. But, When we make hallacas, and it has a lot of work, the family is
reunited, everyone have an opportunity to tell histories, to sing songs and share experience. That
is the beautiful part in the process, not just eat a delicious dish.
I’d rather tradition like it is, without any changes. As soon as we try to modernize a tradition, the
scent lost. That is like symphonic rock: I went to a concert once and was an amazing experience
but that wasn’t rock and wasn’t classic music.
