BSME - 3C Activity # 2

On the Principles of the Art

Harmony
The painting shows coherence of designs. The color schemes are on the same color
wheel which makes them complement. There is observable sky background that jives to the
main subject of the art.
Balance
The balance is achieved by the artist because of the placing of the object. The main
subject which is the “halaman” is on the left side while the moon is on the upper right side. It is
classified as “Informal Balance” wherein even distribution of display has made.
Rhythm
Geometric style of painting made the art display repetitive pattern. The alternation of
colors also presented. The gradient of the colors were similar.
Proportion
The proportionality of the painting centered to its color. The color of “halaman” are warm
colors which gives high contrast for the whole art. The background sky has cool colors which
gives the main subject dominance.
Emphasis
The warm colors of “halaman” gave its emphasis as the main subject of the art. Its
geometric composition gave high visual impact. Its size occupies the whole space in the
painting which means the artist emphasizes “halaman” the most.
