SSG ELECTION OF OFFICERS S.Y 2022 - 2023


Narrative Report

Election is the time where the junior high school students will choose and support for the
next leaders of the school. The school aims to develop students into well-equipped leaders who
can take responsibly in the service of the community, to become better citizens in the future,
develop students’ skills and abilities in achieving quality education and academic excellence.

There are 70 total number of students in junior high school for this school year 2022-2023.
There were two (2) participating parties “Peace and Love” and “SAFE” and each had sixteen (16)
officers aiming to be in the position they desired. The filing of the candidacy took place on
September 8, 2022 at around 7:30-12:00 in the morning. The day after the candidates filed their
candidacy, Mrs. Gliceryl T. Caling called for SSG orientation for students and the running
candidates. In this orientation the responsibility, requirements, activities, and consequences of
being SSG officers were discussed. After the orientation, the official list of candidates for SSG
election of officers S.Y 2022-2023 was publicly announced to the students. They were
introduced to the students with brief background information and their respective platforms.
The campaign period started on September 12 – 14, 2022 (Monday to Thursday) prior to the
SSG election. Each party independently planned their campaign strategies and went room-to-
room to introduce their selves, persuade the students to support and vote for them, and given
a chance to present their platform of government which states goal of their future projects and
for the betterment of the school.

The voting process started on September 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm sharp until 2:30 pm held in
the room of Grade 8 – Zeus. The health and safety protocols were observed and checked
temperature of the voters before entering the precinct room. The ballots were placed and for a
smooth election, Grade 7 female students who first voted then after male students followed by
Grade 8 and Grade 9 students, the same process and the same procedures. The election took
about an hour and half to finish. Right after, the counting of votes started. The comelec officials
were the ones who count the votes of the students. After about an hour, the counting of votes
was done and the result was out. At exactly 3:30 in the afternoon, the result was then posted
and winners were proclaimed.

SSG election was successfully conducted where students are given the chance to
participate and exercise their rights or suffrage during the election.
