Plants Tissues
Beetles Frames
1. Well, for humans, we use non-living things in our daily lives. And
for the animals, some of them use it or being used with it.
2. We are very dependent to our surroundings. We uses everything
around use, we take advantage of it to make our life easier.

Activity 4
A. The Mother is rocking her child to sleep, making sure that she
sleeps safe and sound.
B. The Sow is breastfeeding her hungry piglets. It is what mothers
do to feed their children, whenever and wherever.
C. Queens, or mother cats, played with her kittens; showing a
great connection with children.

Activity 5
1. How many offspring does each organism have?
A. One child
B. Eight piglets
C. Two kittens
2. At what age does the organism start to have the capacity to
reproduce?
A. Average woman can get pregnant at the age of 12-51 years old.
B. The Sow can get pregnant at the age of 5 months.
C. Queens can get pregnant at the age of 4 months.

3. What will happen if living organisms fail to reproduce?

Well, if living organisms are endangered species and can’t
reproduce, there’s a high possibility that they gets extinct. Even if
animals that have a high population but is always being hunted
and can’t reproduce fast enough, there’s a chance that they
become endangered, worse they get extinct.

4. How can a population grow?

By producing fast enough that birth rate is higher than mortality
rate.

5. How can predators affect the population’s growth?

Predators can affect the population because they can still
reproduce; also, they can also affect it because they reduce the
number of prey.
6. How does disease affect population growth?
Great and strong diseases that can affect the whole country or
even the whole world are called pandemic. Pandemic can reduce
huge amount on human population. For example: The Bubonic
Plague, Spanish Flu and COVID-19.

7. What factors control the increase of population?

Natural disasters, fast birth rate, compatible habitats, safe
community or environment are huge factors that affect the
population.

Activity 6
1. Biotic potential
Explanation: The mother doesn’t show any signs of being sick or at
trouble, indicating that the mother is at the safe environment to
reproduce.

2. Biotic potential
Explanation: The snake doesn’t show signs of being in danger; it’s
just shedding its skin.
3. Environmental resistance
Explanation: The picture shows a diseased animal, maybe because
of the disease, starvation or dehydration. If it is in fact a disease,
then it can affect the population’s growth.

4. Environmental resistance
Explanation: The picture shows the normal interaction between
prey and predator. Predators hunt down preys, which is in fact,
affect prey’s population.

5. Biotic potential
Explanation: A family of predators can only be harmed if there’s a
much greater force or there’s a deadly disaster, or a sudden
change in environment.

What I Have Learned

Activity 7
A. What are the abiotic factors in the illustration?
1. Mountain
2. Logs
3. Dead tree roots
4. Clouds
B. What are the biotic factors in the illustration?
1. Tree
2. Tiger
3. Grass
4. Snake
5. Deer
6. Decomposers (at the deceased animal)

C. Identify the environmental resistance that may affect the

population in the ecosystem.
1. Predators
2. Humans damaging the environment
3. Diseases that greatly affect animals
4. Lack of water supply
5. Lack of compatible habitat

D. What is the effect environmental resistance on a population?

It reduces the population’s growth. And if it’s too great it can wipe
out the whole population.
What I Can Do
Activity 8
Unsafe environment and community, poverty, hunger,
overpopulation are one of huge environmental resistance here in
the Philippines. Proper sex education and more disciplinary act
should be immediately done, or is the only actions that I can do.
Any other acts are far too great for me to accomplish since I don’t
have any power.
Just by teaching my friends about the proper sex education, I can
change just a very, very small fraction of the population. But let’s
say that they spread that education as well? It might have a slight
better change for the population. Disciplinary act should also be
done along with the sex education, for a better “result.”
Disciplinary act should also be teach to people that waste foods
nonsensically, just because they’re rich and poor people’s problem
are not their problem.
