 INTRODUCTION

My name is Kedoyah Reid. I am fifteen years old and I live at 1½

Andrews Lane; I am 5’4 inches in height. When I was 2 years
old I attended the Amy Bailey Model Basic School. At the
beginning of my adolescence I attended ST. George's Girls
Primary and Infant school. I then graduated from primary
school with a passing grade on the PEP examination, which is
what has gotten me to my current institution, Holy Childhood
High School now grade 10 students.
The expectations I have for taking this course is to become
more aware of how the family works and why it is important to
know the ways of how to take care of a family. I intend to also
be able to participate in events assisting parents who need
assistance in taking care of their children when they are
struggling, and I believe that this course will help me to
achieve said goal.This course will also help to improve my
knowledge on child care in preparation for the future
 REFLECTION
From this topic ‘The Family’ I have learnt and come to understand
many different things relating to the family. I now know that the
different types of families can be interpreted differently in every
household. I learnt it is not the same in every home, each family has
their own ideals and beliefs. I have also come to understand that
families face many problems and I have discovered some ways to fix
said problems.
I also learnt about the different terminologies and how easily
mistaken they can be, especially the marriage terms. I also discovered
the needs of each person in the family, they all require physical,
psychological and emotional needs; most parents have been educated
to be able to manage these needs. Our group presentation on the last
stage of the family was really an eye opening experience, it showed me
how much the parents go through and how they have to gear up in
order to bid their children goodbye after raising them for so many
years only to say goodbye to them. Even Though it is sad, it's also an
opportunity to start your own family.
I did indeed learn alot from this topic but my teacher still
encouraged me to do some outside research in order to get a better
idea of what the topic is about myself. It was really easy to maneuver
throughout the internet with the use of the guidelines that were given
to us at the beginning of the lessons, it really helped with exterior
reading in hopes of getting a better understanding.
The only thing I had trouble with was creating my family tree, it did
not turn out the way I wanted it to but I have struck myself to try and
complete projects with more care. Other than that I believe that I did a
very okay job but I do strive to do better in the next topic.
