A. Translate the following verbal to mathematical phrases/sentences:

1). The quotient of w and 10 is equal to 7.

2). The sum of a number r and 16 is 23.

3). Ten more than the quotient of a number m and 3 is 12.

4). The product of 8 and the difference of n and 3.

5). Five less than twice a number p is 7.

6). For all numbers a and b which are elements of a real number, the sum of a and b is always
equal to the sum of b and a.

7). For every real number a, there exist a unique number –a, such that a + (–a) = 0.

8). For every a, b, and c which are elements of a real number, the sum of a and b added by c is
the same as the a added to the sum of b and c.

B. Translate the following mathematical to verbal phrases/sentences:
