(a) Mr. Ali and Mr. Mahfuj are good friends who want to take loan from two different banks
named Bank X and Bank Y. If Mr. Ali takes loan from Bank X of Tk. 12000.00 with a
simple interest rate and Mr. Mahfuj takes loan of Tk. 12000.00 from Bank Y with
compound interest rate and if the interest rates of both banks are same like 9%, what
will be the Future value of their loan after 5 years?
(b) Now Mr. Ali and Mahfuj want to invest their total amount Tk. 24000.00 in a vegetable
market and if they forecast that the net cash inflow will be Tk. 6000.00, 8000.00 and
12000.00 in year 1, year 2 and year 3 respectively, what will be the NPV of their
investment at the discount rate of 6%. Put comments on yours result?
