Sweet potatoes are large, elongated, starchy, and sweet-tasting root crops that are classified
under the vegetable family. Sweet potato is a dicotyledonous plant that belongs to the bindweed or
morning glory family, Convolvulaceae. Its scientific name is “Ipomoea batatas”.

PRODUCT/SERVICE:

Sweet potatoes /camote, though often eaten as is after boiling, are also common ingredients in
some Filipino delicacies such as sinigang, ginata-an and specially camote-cue and camote chips. We
come up with the ideas to innovate it, and the Patata Dolce is a result of it. We chose sweet potato as
the main ingredients because it’s inexpensive, easy to grow plants, and packed with nutrients. High on
fiber, iron, and calcium, as well as a good source of vitamins C, A and B6.
