More than a healthy life, we should speak of a healthy lifestyle that includes nutrition,
physical exercise, health prevention, work, relationship with the environment and social
activity.

A healthy diet is governed by including all the foods contemplated in the nutritional pyramid,
but in the right proportions and in sufficient quantity (no more) to maintain the nutritional
needs of the organism according to the energy consumption that this one makes with the daily
activity.

- Eat 4 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner) including vegetables, fruits, legumes,
cereals, milk, yogurt or cheese, eggs, meats and oils.
- Choose home-prepared foods instead of processed foods.
- Limit consumption of sugary drinks and foods with high fat, sugar and salt content.
Toxic habits: tobacco, alcohol and drugs have a very negative impact on health.

Environmental pollution in cities is considered to be one of the most important risk factors for
health. The routine and the tension of the city, generate high stress factors, causing pains in
the body and discomfort, therefore it is advisable to make trips whenever possible.

Social activity: social relations are a fundamental aspect for human health and, consequently,
for healthy aging. Social isolation can even lead to a gradual and irreversible deterioration of
physical and mental capacities.

Physical exercise: Taking short walks, riding a bicycle, practicing yoga or jogging for at least
half an hour a day is enough to contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

Rest: our body needs to sleep and rest after long days. It is recommended to sleep between 7
and 8 hours a day.
