To be assessed as Satisfactory in this assessment task, all questions must be answered
correctly.
Project Scenario
Unique IT Services is a software company involved in creating customized software solutions for
technology companies. Their software includes Enterprise Resource Software and Artificial
Intelligence software. Unique IT Services is venturing into a new division which involves creating
websites and increasing brand awareness using social media to current and new clients in Australia.
You have been hired as an IT Associate for marketing this new division. You have been given
responsibility of handling the social media opportunities in marketing the company for new clients.
You have been approached to build a social media presence for a new client called Thebarton Senior
College.
Requirements
Your client would like a web presence created across two (2) different social media platforms but is
not sure what is the most suitable so will need your advice to help them decide. They have asked you
to investigate Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as they are more familiar with these social media
networks. The client would also like to know of any issues relating to certain social media platforms
and in particular advantages and disadvantages of each.
They have an existing website which they would like potential customers to be able to link too through
the social media platforms you will create. The client would also like to be able to reduce image sizes
using the online tool IMG2go.com to upload modified images, adding text files, video files and

Your client would like all accounts to be appropriately password protected and all appropriate security
options including a Google 2 Factor Authenticator for the chosen social media site enabled. Personal
contact information is to remain private. Users can only join groups on the business’s social media
site by requesting permission. Administrator account information is to be supplied to your client.
Your task
Your task is to provide all the relevant information required to create a web presence for your client.
This will be accomplished by completing each of the parts in this assessment that follows. You will
need to answer a range of question, complete various practical tasks, and meet with the
trainer/assessor for observable tasks. All questions must be answered in order to gain competency for
this assessment. This activity will require the student to present information, assuming the role of a
consultant at the organisation Unique IT Solutions.
1. Please read the scenario specifications and outline the requirements of the business for
setting up the social media platform. (PC1 – 1.1)
The clients at the Thebarton Senior Collage want the following social media platforms to be
setup through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram but they want these platform to be linked to
website which they originally use.
2. Identify the three potential platforms the client wishes you to analyse. Describe the
type/category for each and then list three (3) characteristics, three (3) advantages and

2. After all the initial discussions, it has been decided that the client wishes for Unique IT
Solutions to use the social media Platforms Facebook and Instagram develop web
presence. Using a computer with internet access, initiate and set up the following:
One fictitious Facebook Social media business account for Thebarton Senior College
using your college email.
