Pearson LCCI Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Pearson has taken the decision to withdraw all Pearson LCCI Financial and Quantitative qualifications
in 2023. As a result, the examination series for next year have been streamlined into two super series
in April 2023 and September 2023, where all eleven Financial and Quantitative subjects will be available
during these two examination periods.

In light of this development, our priority is to keep you informed while we work on minimising
disruptions as much as possible. The following FAQs are correct at the time of publishing and will be
updated if there are any changes.

Why is Pearson withdrawing from all Pearson LCCI Financial and Quantitative qualifications?

Following a recent strategic review of the Pearson LCCI Professional portfolio of qualifications, Pearson
has decided, after careful consideration, to withdraw the remaining twelve qualifications in the LCCI
Financial and Quantitative suite in 2023.

We appreciate that this decision will come as a disappointment to many of you after your lengthy
involvement with the LCCI qualification. Learners who are currently working towards achieving Pearson
LCCI qualifications will be offered a final opportunity to sit for examinations in 2023.

What is going to happen to Pearson LCCI examination series in 2023?

Seven examinations series were initially planned for 2023. Following the withdrawal decision, these are
now streamlined into two super series to be held in April 2023 and September 2023. Please refer to the
new 2023 examination timetable here which includes examination dates, entry windows and result
release dates.

Which qualifications will be available in the 2023 Pearson LCCI examination series?

All eleven LCCI qualifications within the LCCI Financial and Quantitative suite will be available in both April
2023 and September 2023 examination series. They are:

When is the last opportunity for learners to sit for the Pearson LCCI examinations?

The September 2023 examination series will be the last opportunity for learners to sit examinations.

Will learners be able to resit for examinations before the full withdrawal of Pearson LCCI qualifications?

Learners who sit for an examination in the April 2023 series will have an opportunity to resit during the
September 2023 series. Please note that there will be NO resit opportunity for examinations held in the
September 2023 series. The September 2023 series will be the final examination series before Pearson
LCCI’s full withdrawal.

What is going to happen to on-demand examinations in 2023?

Pearson LCCI Level 2 Computerised Bookkeeping is the only examination which is offered on an on-
demand basis. The final opportunity to sit for this on-demand examination is 30 September 2023.

Where can learners find information about alternative qualifications?

Pearson has been reviewing its existing portfolio for available replacements for Pearson LCCI
qualifications.

Our Edexcel International GCSE Accounting and Edexcel International A-Level Accounting cover some of
the contents of LCCI qualifications. You may wish to consider these qualifications as potential
replacements. We will publish mapping on content coverage and guidance on transferring to these
qualifications in the coming weeks.

We are also investigating new BTECs to replace our key Pearson LCCI qualifications. Our intention is to
reach a decision by 31 December 2022 on which qualifications could be developed following customer
research.
