“Information is the

oil of the 21st century, and analytics is the combustion engine”

Peter Sondergaard, world’s leading technology expert with an extensive experience of more than 30
years, is the pioneer of this striking metaphor. This phrase conceptualizes the instrumental role of
information and its analysis for a gamut of businesses across the world. Business analytics is poised to
radically change the scenarios of trade and commerce in upcoming years. Automation has skyrocketed
the needs to raise values and impacts of big data analysis in all spheres of decision making. As an
engineer turned corporate professional, my experience has led me to realize that advanced tools and
techniques can efficiently fuel analytic business solutions. Precision handling fused with strategic data
manipulation will continue to gain significance as we keep transitioning into digital era. So in years down
the line, to sustain a flourishing corporate excellence aligned to the next gen tech wave, I wish to attain
a Masters degree in Business Analytics at this point of my career.

My early education with an exposure to digital infrastructure laid down a strong foundation for me to
evolve as a tech enthusiast right from the schooling years. Therefore after the successful completion of
my higher and senior secondary schooling, I chose to pursue Engineering (Electronics and
Instrumentation) from the renowned Sathyabama University of Chennai, India. Throughout the course
of four years during my college education, I maintained a consistent performance not just in my
academics, along the lines of Automation & Robotics; but also in other domains as well. A pro active
participation in different sports and being the captain of my teams has groomed my leadership,
teamwork, co-ordination and goal orientation attributes. Gaining such multidimensional roles to
perform further enriched me, both on a professional and personal level. This in turn helped me to bag a
job in Sunlight Educational Consultancy as a Marketing Director, where I served for six years.

This substantial marketing experience encompassed developing of innovative long term strategies and
continuous evaluation of market trends to optimize company revenues. My role was to put my abilities
of observation, effective research, problem-solving and data processing to its best use for an informed
decision making. Eventually acknowledging a robust impact of globalization in every nook and corner of
corporate industries, sparked my desire to delve deeper into the business field. Also during my work
tenure, thoughts of being an entrepreneur were often filled with several doubts as they were not
backed by management oriented knowledge. Therefore I chose to study Masters of Business
Administration from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China.

The two years of my MBA with courses like Managerial Economics, Financial Management and
Organizational Behavior expanded the scope of my insight in every arena of Business. The skills and
knowledge that I equipped through industrial visits and my thesis played a vital role in my subsequent
absorption as an International Business Development Intern at Filterpur Environmental Protection
Technology Co. Ltd. in Shunde, China. My responsibilities at this post included, handling of company's
daily operations and business relationships on the global platform along with development and
implementation of marketing strategies. To strengthen corporate ties, I had to be a part of all crucial
business deals and also attend various exhibitions, conferences and global seminars of my company.
Such deployment as company’s global representative has been extremely fruitful for me in refining my

existing business acumen; but at the same time this phase has been more about self analysis and
introspection as well.

My tenure has exposed me to epitomes of global business giants of China like Alibaba, Tencent and
JD.com that deals on a large scale with equally giant firms of the entire world. Their advanced business
analytical solutions to steer their supply chains have become my major fascination. I am intrigued by the
skills of excellent business analysts with predictive abilities to see the big picture and ensure alignment
of demand supply networks with the business goals. Challenges to harness huge amounts of data has
proliferated the culture of corporate professionals in major industries that are proficient in both
technological fronts and statistical finesse. So in order sto acquire this sort of competitive edge, I wish to
attain a specialization in Business Analytics with a stark context to Supply Chain Management.

After going through a number of globally reputed institutions that offer such comprehensively tailored
study programs, I have landed upon the Master of Science program in Business Analytics offered by the
University of New Haven that perfectly amalgamates courses of data management, machine learning,
predictive analytics and data visualization which can be further navigated with a concentration in Global
Supply Chain Management. Under the guidance of experienced faculty members of the University, like
Prof. Armando E. Rodriguez and Prof. Esin Cakan; I shall be able to enhance my industry specific skills. I
also look forward to learn innovation in analytical sciences of Business from the research work of such
well qualified professors at your University and also explore the possibilities of conducting ground-
breaking research myself under them. The most appealing feature of this programa is state of the art
infrastructure of your University across a broad range of latest analytic systems to furnish my
capabilities and learn to target productivity, allocate resources, adjust or mitigate risks and drive supply
chains in sync with potential market demands. My considerable achievements in extracurricular
activities and being linked to various educational and charitable trusts would let me leave a long lasting
impact on fronts of community outreaches.

The USA is my only choice to venture my professional higher studies in Business Analytics as it accounts
for the world’s best colleges for Business Analysts. In fact both Times Higher Education  and QS Ranking
have placed the USA higher than its counterparts to study this domain. Most importantly the Analytics
market in the USA is worth USD $29.53 billion alone. So sailing through this milestone of Masters would
allow me to work with some of the top notch corporate firms not just in USA but elsewhere in the world
too, at posts like Senior Business Analyst, Data Scientist or Business Intelligence Manager. Apart from it,
this would enable me in achieving my long term goal of setting up my own start-up, where I aim to lead
teams that would offer analytical solutions to seamlessly guide supply chain mechanisms of various
corporate firms.

Therefore I would request the concerned higher authorities to kindly give your valuable consent to my
admission request at your eminent University of New Haven.
