(2) Plan for Lighting and Receptacle Outlets. Layout and wiring
plans for general lighting and receptacle outlets on floor plans drawn to
scale, shall show:

1. Location, type and rating of lighting fixtures, indicating

illumination in lux in each room or area. In residences, hotels,
apartment houses, and churches, the illumination level in each
room or area need not be shown nor computed;
2. Location of switches for each fixtures or group of fixtures;
3. Location of receptacle outlets and appliances to be served and
their ratings;
4. Complete circuits of the lighting and receptacle outlets;
5. Complete wiring of emergency lighting system, if any;
6. A separate drawing showing layout of receptacle outlets may
be made at the discretion of the design engineer.

E) Schedule of Loads. Schedule of load in tabulated form shall

indicate:

(1) Motor Loads;

1. Motors as numbered or identified in power layout

2. Type of motor
3. Horsepower/kilowatt/kilovolt ampere rating
4. Voltage rating
5. Full-load current rating
6. Frequency rating other than 60 hertz
7. Number of phases
8. Type and size of wiring
9. Protective device rating

(2) Lighting and Receptacle Loads;

1. Panel as numbered in the feeder diagram

2. Circuit designation number
3. Number of lighting outlets in each circuit
4. Number of switches in each circuit
5. Number of receptacles outlets (convenience outlets)
6. Voltage of circuit
7. Type and size of wiring
8. Protective device rating

(3) Other Loads.

1. Designation number on plan

2. Description of load
3. Classification of service duty, if required
4. Rating of kilovolt-ampere or kilowatt
5. Phase loading indicating full load line current
6. Voltage rating
7. Type and size of wiring
8. Protective device rating

(F) Design Analysis.

Design analysis shall be included on the drawings or shall be

submitted on separate sheets of standard size, and shall show:

1. Branch circuits, sub-feeders, feeders, busways, and service entrance;

2. Types, ratings, and trip settings of overload protective devices;
3. Calculation of voltage drops.
4. Calculation of short circuit current for determining the interrupting
capacity of overcurrent protective device for residential, commercial,
and industrial establishment;
5. Protection coordination of overcurrent protective devices;
6. Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis to determine the required personal
protective equipment (PPE) i other than dwelling place – (see

2.1 Qualification of Residential Building Plan To Be Used for

Electrical Design
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7920 New Electrical Engineering Law.

Section. 34. Preparation of Plans, Supervision of Installation, Application of

the Philippine Electrical Code.
• It shall be unlawful for any person not authorized under this Act to
prepare plans, electrical valuations or specifications for any electrical
wiring, equipment or system; and no installation thereof shall be
undertaken unless the plans, designs, valuations and specifications
have been prepared by or under the responsible charge of, and
signed and sealed by a professional electrical engineer; and a
construction permit for the execution thereof is first secured; and
unless the work is done in accordance with the Philippine Electrical
Code and is executed under the responsible charge or supervision of
a professional electrical engineer, a registered electrical engineer, or
a registered master electrician, as the case may be, and the routinary
fiscal and ministerial requirements of the government agency, if any,
exercising jurisdiction over the particular installation have been
complied with.
In Preparation of Electrical Plans it should be in compliance of Philippine
Electrical Code. And in submission of electrical plans to the office building
official to get electrical permit it should include the electrical design
analysis showing all the calculations of short circuit, currents and voltage
drop.
3.0 BASIS OF DESIGN

3.0 Codes and Industry Standards

1.) all electrical works indicated here in shall be done in

accordance with the latest edition of philippine electrical
code part 1, the requirements of the local building official
and the electric utility serving the area.

2.) the electrical supply/ service voltage is 230v, single phase,

two wires, grounded, 60 hz.

3.) contractor shall verify and orient the actual locations of

concrete terminal.

4.) all installation shall be concealed from view, wiring shall be

incased in pvc pipe or flexible conduit except power service
which shall be in rsc.

5.) all materials shall be new and approved type. appropriate

for both location and intended use.

6.) electrical installation shall be under a direct supervision of

duly licensed electrical engineer or registered master
electrician.

7.) no revision in the design shall be done without the prior

knowledge and approval of the designer and the owner.

8.) ground resistance shall not exceed 25 ohms.

9.) mounting heights for switches and convenience outlet shall

be in 1.37m and 0.30m respectively, unless otherwise
indicated in architectural plans.
3.2. Service

3.3. Power Distribution System

3.4. Alternative Power Source

3.5. Lighting System

This design uses a mixture of LED light fixtures and fluoresces
lamps

3.6. Power Outlets

The outlets used in this design are universal outlets that are
duplex and placed reasonably spaced from each other to lessen the
use of extension cord.

3.7. Wiring Materials, Equipment and Devices

4.0. PROBLEMS AND CONSTRAINTS TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE

DESIGN
Some of the problems and constraints to be addressed are that the
design doesn’t have an additional back up power system design due to
maxed out budget and the client doesn’t want a back up power design.
