Terms & Conditions

In this Document, the terms:


“we”, “UBA” or “the Bank” refers to United Bank for Africa Plc;
“you” or “the customer” refers to you, our customer, as a user of any of our electronic
channels or platforms.
“the Platforms” refers to UBA electronic platforms and channels including UBA
ChatBanking, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking and other electronic channels or platforms
provided by UBA.

Each Platform enables you transmit instructions to us electronically and to receive information
from us in relation to your account.

By using any Platform, you hereby confirm and/or warrant that:


 You have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions
(T&C) set out herein and such other T & C as UBA may from time to time publish.
 If you do not agree with any of the T&C, please choose the "Disagree" option and
exit the application.
 Each time you use any Platform, these T&C or such amended version as
may be in force at the time of use of the Platform shall apply
 The Platforms are an extension of the services offered by the Bank for ease of its
customer transactions. Enrollment on and use of any of the Platforms is optional and at
customer’s discretion, subject to the T&C

1 Access to the Platforms


To access any Platform, you will need to register/enroll based on the
operating procedures for the Platform. You are responsible for the security of your login
details for the Platforms other access credentials. You are also responsible for your
email, mobile phone number, your social media login details that can be used to access
your account on the Platforms or to access credentials that can enable enrollment/use of
the Platforms. Any information delivered to your mobile number or your email address
you provided to the Bank shall be deemed delivered to
you alone. If the Bank receives any instruction as may be required on any of the
Platforms from your Mobile number or your social media platforms, they shall be
deemed to be your instructions.

2. No Warranty
Your use of any of the Platforms is at your own risk. To the extent
permitted by applicable law, the Platforms and any services performed or provided on
the Platform are provided "as is" and "as available". UBA hereby disclaims all
warranties and conditions with respect to the Platforms and the services available on
the Platforms, whether statutory, expressed, or implied, including but not limited to, the
implied warranties
and/or conditions of merchantability of satisfactory quality of fitness for a particular
purpose of accuracy.
UBA does not warrant against interference with your enjoyment of the
Platforms, that the functions contained in, or services performed or provided on any
Platform will meet your requirements, that the operation of the application or services
will be uninterrupted or error free, or that defects in the Platforms or services will be
corrected.
No oral or written information or advice given by the Bank shall create a warranty.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or
limitations on applicable statutory rights of a consumer, so the above exclusion or
limitation may not apply. In such jurisdictions, this clause shall be subject to applicable
law.

3. Obligation to Secure Access Credentials to the Platforms


You understand that your Device ID, social media profile, mobile phone
number, account number, login details, access credentials and transaction
PIN/OTP/Secure Pass etc can be used to give instructions to the bank on the Platforms
and you accordingly confirm and undertake:
a. to keep your Devices secure and properly passworded and to notify the Bank
immediately you are aware or suspect any unauthorised access to your phone and
other devises or your social media platforms
b. to prevent unauthorised access to your debit card, its peculiar details including
the full card PAN (Primary Account Number), expiry date and your PIN
(Personal Identification Number)
c. not to disclose any information provided to you by the bank through your
phone or email to anyone and to prevent unauthorised access to your
communication media
d. that UBA is authorized to comply with any instructions received on any
Platforms using your mobile number, social media platforms and your other
access login and user credentials and it is agreed that such instructions shall be
deemed to be your instruction, unless you have given UBA prior reasonable
notice of compromise of your access credentials and other confidential details
e. You may be required to choose a PIN/code/password that cannot be easily
guessed and which will be known to you alone. You undertake not to disclose this
to anyone. You undertake to change your PIN immediately you are made aware
that it has become compromised.
f. to notify UBA immediately in the event of any compromise. UBA shall be
exempted from any form of loss or liability whatsoever for complying with
instruction given by means of your mobile number, platform login details,
passwords, account number and transaction PIN/OTP/Secure Pass and accordingly
the bank shall not be responsible for any fraudulent, duplicate or erroneous instructions
given by means of your PIN/OTP/Secure Pass
g. UBA Plc is expressly exempted from any liability arising from unauthorized
access to your account and/or data as contained in the banks records which
arises as a result of your inability and/or otherwise to safeguard login and other
access credentials, passwords, your transaction PIN/OTP/Secure Pass and/or
failure to clear chat history and/or logout of the system completely thereby
allowing on screen display of your account information and any other
compromise, whether deliberate or inadvertent.
h. UBA Plc is further relieved of any liability for loss that may arise as a result of
transfer of ownership or possession of the device used for
enrollment/transactions on the Platform
i. You hereby agree to immediately notify the bank immediately upon your
suspicion that there has been unauthorised access to your mobile phone number
linked to your account or your email or your social media platforms or the
confidentiality of your transaction PIN and/or registration code are
compromised. Please call our CFC hot-line or e-mail cfc@ubagroup.com
immediately this happens.
j. You shall be responsible for and shall bear liability for any fraud, loss and/or
liability to the bank or third party arising from usage of your transaction PIN,
social media platforms, your mobile phone number and your access credentials
etc on any of the Platforms

4. Transactions on Platforms
Operational procedures, applicable fees and limits vary from Platform to
Platform and any peculiar terms will be indicated on the Platform it relates to and you
agree to be bound by such terms. In the event of any conflict between the terms set out
herein and the terms specifically indicated on any Platform, the terms on that Platform
shall be applicable with respect to transactions carried out on such Platforms

5. Bill Payments
Certain service providers/vendors/utilities are enabled for payment for
their goods and services on the Platforms and this facility is available with or without the
ability for the Customer to know the details of such bills, depending on the service
provider/vendor/utility company involved. The Bank shall not be liable or responsible
for the accuracy of any bills and/or details thereof, whether or not the bill was made
available on any Platform. The Bank shall not be responsible for tracking whether the
Customer has made payments through any Platform.

The Bank shall not be liable for the timeliness of receipt of payment by any service
provider/vendor/utility; the discontinuation or suspension or cancellation of the
service/goods/utility, for any reason whatsoever, and the consequences thereof; the
quality of the service/goods for which the payment is intended/made or delay/non-
delivery of the same due to any reason whatsoever; any short/excess payment made to
service provider/vendor/utility, and for which, the Customer is solely liable to follow
up and settle the shortfall and or for refunds.

6. Transaction Records
The Platforms are made available for your convenience and for ease of
access to your account to carry out transactions. You recognize that the Bank may be
unable to preserve records of instructions received from you on the Platforms. By using
the Platforms, you agree that the Bank will not preserve any record of the instructions
given by you for the services
on the Platforms. You agree not to contest transactions carried out or
not carried out by the Bank on the Platforms and save for manifest error, you shall
accept any record of the transaction as may be maintained
by the Bank as the true and correct records. You will hold the Bank harmless and
blameless against any loss, or consequences thereof, arising from any transaction
carried out or not carried out on the Platforms. Only the Bank's record of the
transactions maintained through its systems shall be accepted as conclusive and shall be
binding.

You will be responsible for the accuracy and correctness of information supplied to the
Bank on the Platforms. The Bank accepts no liability for the consequence arising out of
erroneous, incorrect or incomplete information supplied by you. You undertake to
advise the Bank as soon as you discover any error and the Bank will endeavor to
correct the error on a 'best effort' basis.

While the Bank will take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of any statement
and other records generated from the Platforms, the Bank shall not be liable for
errors. You shall hold the Bank harmless against any loss, damages that may be
incurred/ suffered if the information contained in the above said outputs turns out to
be inaccurate, incorrect or incomplete.

UBA will not be held liable for non-delivery or delayed delivery of alerts, e-mails,
errors or losses or distortion in transmission of alerts and e-mails to the Customer.
UBA shall not be liable for lack of receipt of alerts due to service provider failures,
technical defects with customer's phone or computer.

7. Verification of Instructions
Save for system authentication of the Customer-Id, login details,
passwords, PIN, identifiers and other access credentials as may be applicable to each
Platform, the Bank shall have no obligation to verify the authenticity of any
instruction received on any Platform purporting to have been sent by the Customer.
8. Withdrawal of Access to Platforms
The Bank, may in its sole discretion and without providing notice or
reason for its action withdraw your access to any Platform. The Bank shall also be
entitled to suspend or withdraw your access to any Platform if:
(i) the minimum balance requirement is not met
(ii) the service charges remain unpaid
(iii) if you are in breach of any of your obligations to the Bank
(iv) if in the Bank’s opinion, any Platforms is not being used in line with these
T&C or in any acceptable manner
(v) for such other reason UBA as deems reasonable in the circumstances.
In event that access to any Platform is withdrawn, there shall be no obligation on the
Bank to give any notice to you and the Bank shall the Bank incur any liability by reason
of withdrawal of access to any Platform.

9. Amendments
UBA shall be entitled to review, update and amend these T&C as may be required from time
to time. Any update or amendment shall be posted on this location or the Bank’s website
and such other media available to the Public. You undertake to access and review the T&C
from time to time.
10. Data Privacy
In order to provide products and services to you, and to comply with laws and regulations,
United Bank for Africa Plc or any of its Subsidiaries (UBA) may collect, record, use, share
and store personal and financial information about you. Your information may include
Personal Data (as defined in the Nigeria 'Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (''NDPR'') as
may be amended, replaced or re-enacted from time to time)
UBA’s use of such information shall be governed by the NDPR and other applicable
data protection laws and regulations. UBA’s Privacy Policy provides details on how
we collect and process your personal data.
By downloading and using the Redd App, you confirm that you have read UBA’s
Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your personal data/information
as described herein.If you wish to withdraw your consent, you may do so at any time
by contacting the Data Protection Officer on: dataprotectionoffice@ubagroup.com or

11. Access to Third Party Services
As a convenience to you, we may allow you access third party products and services
(“third party services”) through the platforms. UBA disclaims any and all liability,
including any express or implied warranties, whether oral or written, for such third party
services. You acknowledge that no representation has been made by UBA as to the
fitness of the third party services for your intended purpose. You further acknowledge
and agree that UBA is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content, accuracy,
completeness, timeliness, validity, copyright compliance, legality, decency, quality or
any other aspect of the third party services. UBA, its officers, affiliates and subsidiaries
do not warrant or endorse and do not assume and will not have any liability or
responsibility to you or any other person for the third party services. Access to the third
party services are provided solely as a convenience to you and you undertake to
indemnify and hold UBA harmless for any claim, loss or damages UBA suffers as a
result of your access to third party services through the platforms.
