Dear Colleagues and Friends...


I am privileged to extend a warm welcome to the 1st International
Conference on Challenges in Higher Education for Underprivileged - A
Global Perspective scheduled during 12-14th April, 2023 at the Anna
University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The purpose of this conference is to
examine the educational and research conditions and concerns of
students and researchers from under privileged communities. The
organizers have assembled terrific slate of speakers to engage with various
thematic sessions on the cultural, political, economic, and historical
questions concerning diverse marginalized Indians. It is particularly
exciting time to be involved in this international conference to deliberate
various issues, to establish a resourceful network, and to make necessary
recommendations to the government and national commissions to ensure
educational and research opportunities.

Importance
Despite the existence of several constitutional safeguards, the socio-economic
conditions scheduled castes and scheduled tribes are still poor. They are socially
discriminated and also suffer from illiteracy, poverty and low income. This event
shall be conducted biennially to review global challenges, analyse the progress
and to update the socio-economic status of the under privileged in the domains of
higher education and research.

Objectives
• Connect successful persons from underprivileged Indians worldwide who have
contributed towards academic, research, publication, and job recruitment.
• Sharing knowledge of their experiences, challenges and successful stories
across the world.
• Preparing yellow page to connect all under privileged communities, leaders,
and NGOs globally.
• Submitting recommendations based on the outcome of the conference to the
concerned authorities who are involved in decision making.
