1st Affirmative Speaker:

Good evening, esteemed judges, fellow debaters, ladies and gentlemen!
My name is Nam Trân. I’m the second speaker of the Affirmative team standing for the motion “That corporal
punishment should be banned”

[Context]
Now, to begin with, we are living in the world where corporal or physical punishment is highly prevalent
globally, both in homes and schools. Around 60% of children aged 2–14 years regularly suffer physical
punishment by their parents or other caregivers. In some countries, almost all students report being physically
punished by school staff.

Standing on the Affirmative side today, we aim to provide definitions, our points with our proofs, and research
and lastly, our rebuttals.
