Accommodation Allocation Guide 2022
Accommodation Allocation Guide 2022
Outlined below is the way in which Central allocate the number of rooms that we
receive from the University of London’s Intercollegiate Halls.
Please Note: students who have lived in Intercollegiate Halls and are returning to
study after completing their first year or returning from a suspension of studies are not
eligible to apply for Intercollegiate Halls, unless they fall into priority Group 1 (see
below).
In this document, the following meaning is attributed to the terms applicant and
student.
Applicant: an individual who holds a full-time course offer for entry to Central
in 2022/23
It’s worth flagging now that priority will be given to applicants/students with
disabilities or a medical condition in line with Disability Services
recommendations.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a room within Intercollegiate Halls, Applicants/Students must
meet the following criteria:
Allocations
We allocate rooms using the two following priority groups:
Please note; in the event all rooms are allocated to Group 1 applicants/students, the
allocation will then be complete and no further rooms will be allocated to groups 2a
and 2b below.
If any rooms are remaining after the allocation of Group 1, the rooms will be equally
split between Groups 2a and 2b ‘lottery’ allocation based on a fair system.
Each Applicant/Student will be asked to rank their first, second, third and fourth
choice of room preference. The Applicant/Student will also be asked to confirm that all
room choices are within their budget. Please be aware that if you are allocated a room
we cannot guarantee your first choice.
It’s important to note that we have a limited number of rooms and as we use a fair
and transparent lottery allocation, we cannot guarantee that Applicants/Students will
receive a room. If Applicants/Students do receive an offer of a room, we cannot
guarantee that this will be their first choice.
Applicants/Students are asked to confirm the offer of a room by the specified deadline
given by the SAS team. If any Applicant/Student who fails to accept their allocated
room, this will forfeit their right to the allocation.
Successful Applicants/Students will be referred to the University of London, who will
then contact the Applicants/Students to complete the process.
Once an offer has been made, it is not possible to transfer to a different room or Halls
of Residence due to the limited spaces.
Places are allocated for one year only, for the standard academic year. University of
London will provide contract details once rooms have been finalised.
The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama have received room allocations in the
following Intercollegiate Halls:
Nutford House
1 x Small Single Shared NA (shared bathroom)
£174.58 per week, £500 deposit, 40 week contract
1 x Small Single Plus Shared Bathroom
£189.83 per week, £500 deposit, 40 week contract
13 x Single Shared Bathroom
£220.43 per week, £500 deposit, 40 week contract
The bathroom facilities are provided for you and your hallmates on the floor. On
average, a bathroom cubicle is shared between 4 people and there are multiple
cubicles per bathroom so you should never find yourself waiting.
Halls are catered (two meals per day are provided and included in the rent) and you
are not permitted to cook your own food. Meals are served at the following times:

8. Waiting list
Students who are not allocated a place can request to be put on a waiting list and
students in all categories may be offered a room if any become available. This will be
done on a fair and transparent lottery-based allocation process (excluding Group 1,
who will be prioritised).
