Travis Jordan, the one and only, came into this world in Digby, Nova Scotia, on
the 21st day of August in 1987. He spent his upbringing in Coldbrook, Nova
Scotia, where he started to develop his passions in life. An avid athlete, Travis
spent countless hours with friends playing hockey, soccer, and golf, all of which
he excelled at and enjoyed the intensity of competition. When it came to giving
back, he was also someone who many looked up to. He volunteered for many
years with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program and was an outstanding role
model to his family members.
Travis left the Annapolis Valley in 2012 and obtained his certificate in Policing
Science from Holland College, after which he returned to the Annapolis Valley
and worked with the Kentville Police Service as a Jail Guard until he joined the
EPS on October 6, 2014. During this time, Travis also met the love of his life,
Annie, and they embarked on a journey that saw them relocate to Edmonton to
take on many new adventures together.
Travis started in RTC 132 on November 3, 2014, following his graduation he
moved to West Branch, Squad 6, and afterwards made his home among Squad
4, where he spent almost 8 years working patrol alongside his EPS brothers and
sisters.
Travis’ recruit class described him as someone who took initiative, showed
perseverance, was out-going, trustworthy, and dependable. His close friends and
family shared the same sentiments, in addition to his loving and caring nature,
attention to detail, sense of humour, and outstanding loyalty to those in his life.
Away from his service, Travis loved spending time with his wife, Annie, and dogs,
Teddy and BJ. They were avid travellers and took many trips together where they
sought out new experiences oftentimes alongside family and friends. On his days
off you could also find him at one of the many golf courses around Alberta, with
his golf buddies, simply enjoying the little things in life.
The Oxford Dictionary describes Ripple effect as “a situation in which an event
or action has an effect on something, which then has an effect on something else”.
Through his actions in life, intentional and not, the ripples that Travis created
will be felt by many generations to come, and thus his journey will continue
through all of us who will carry him forward.

Brett was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on June 3, 1992. He grew up
in Fox Creek and then moved to Spruce Grove with his family when
he was 14 years old. He married Ashley Ryan on August 22, 2015 and
Ashley is now expecting their first child.

Prior to joining the EPS, Brett served as a paramedic with Medavie

Health Services in Saddle Lake from 2012 to 2015 and then moved on
to serve Edmonton Metro with Alberta Health Services, as a member
of 1/B platoon. He also received his Firefighter I & II certificates in
Crowley, Texas. Brett joined Edmonton Police Service RTC 141 on
August 14, 2017, and upon graduating, moved to West Branch, Squad
4 on January 28, 2018. His recruit class described him as having
outstanding interpersonal skills, excelling at public speaking, and
staying calm in stressful situations.

Aside from golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends,
Brett volunteered with Minor Hockey in the Supervision Program and
enjoyed being a hockey referee.

In August 2020, Brett received an Award of Merit from West Division

for work on a file in December 2019 which involved a 14-year-old
unconscious and unresponsive female in the parking lot of West
Edmonton Mall. Brett was recognized for displaying outstanding
professionalism and teamwork. He showed great compassion and
empathy in attempts to save the young woman’s life and during the
aftermath of her passing.

He had a passion for policing and helping people, which has been
demonstrated many times throughout his time with EPS.
