Political media and environment provide the general public with information on political
matters. The political media airs urgent news to the citizens, making it easier for them to
understand the political regime of the country. Giving information on state matters like insecurity
gives the citizens assurance that the government cares and their leaders are protecting them.
Also, the political media and environment provide transparency to the state operations and the
expenditure of the taxpayers’ money. When the political leaders give speeches on budget
allocation, it provides insight to the citizens on the state government's work. Transparency in the
activities within the government causes the citizens to have more peace and trust in their leaders.
Media has also affected politics positively by enabling the people to accept different views.
Taking different views has helped increase stability within the country as the citizens can quickly
The political media helps the citizens in decision-making as aspirants can use it to entice
voters to cast their votes. Politicians can use the political media to announce their candidature for
different positions and use them as campaign forums. Giving their manifesto through the media
saves the citizens time, which they would spend traveling to attend physical meetings. It also
gives them various choices of different aspirants' campaigns on multiple platforms. Political
media and environments have given the public a platform to interact directly with political
leaders. It has made it easier for people to air their political views and grievances without fear.

However, the political media and environment have portrayed some drawbacks. The
political press has resulted in manipulating the general public by spreading propaganda. They air
altered information appealing to the citizens to hide them from the truth. Politicians use the
political media to manipulate citizens into believing inexistent political situations. It has also
denied the public the chance to have a physical meeting with the politicians, which has
contributed to unsolved claims and grievances. Most political media fail to check their responses
from the public, making it difficult for citizens to reach their leaders. The availability of political
information to anyone of any age and political experience may cause misinterpretation,
discouraging voters. For instance, if someone lacking political knowledge interprets data from
the political press, they might mislead the voters leading to a low voter turnout during elections.
Political media may cause divisions according to political parties. The information posted
on the political press may demean the other parties, thus creating enmity between followers.
Even though the data aims to gain popularity, it can also bring divisions and a state of unrest.
Lastly, political media covers a large area, making it simple for the state government to spread
propaganda. A higher percentage of the state population listens to and watches the political
media to remain updated on political news; when the state announces altered information, it
reaches most people quickly. The fast movement of data over a broad population poses a
challenge to the citizens willing to condemn the state acts as they lack support from the public.
The state efficiently traps citizens' minds into believing their information only by using the
political media.
